Finding reviewers

Prophy

A ranked list of fifty candidate reviewers for a manuscript, expandable if fifty is not enough.

IntegrationYour own subscriptionprophy.ai

Reviewer finding that goes beyond the people you already know. Prophy reads the manuscript and proposes experts from the wider literature.

What PeerPath does with it

An editor runs Prophy from the manuscript. It returns a ranked list of fifty candidate reviewers, and the search can be expanded within Prophy if fifty is not enough.

Where it sits in the workflow

At the point an editor is choosing who to ask, alongside your own reviewer database rather than instead of it.

Setting it up

1Subscribe to Prophy directly.
2Tell PeerPath support you want it connected.
3The search appears on the Review tab for your editors.

Whether it is right for you

Worth it if
  • Your editors keep returning to the same small group of reviewers
  • You publish across a field wider than your own database covers
  • Reviewer fatigue is a live problem rather than a theoretical one
Probably not if
  • Your own database is deep enough and your editors know it well
  • Your field is small enough that the right names are already obvious
